Punters looking for the Melbourne Sectional Times that used to be provided on the Equitime website, can now find them on the TVN website.
As of the 1st August, the TVN website will host all of the sectional times data for Melbourne metropolitan races, while the Sydney metropolitan races will remain on the Equitime site.
Punters looking for alternatives to these services should consider Phil Purser's sectional times report for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane weekend races. While these services cost $220 per annum per city, they are more accurate than the free services which are automatically tabulated and can be prone to error. They provide the last 600m for every horse, and also provide additional data on the race quality and individual runner comments that are not spotted by the Stewards.
Another site that provides race sectionals for TAB meetings in New South Wales and Victoria is Mick Fagan's Racing Service. Each race is broken down into three times: Overall, First Section, and Last Section, as well as the average time per 200m. Only $20 per week, per state. The website has example data.
The updated links to all Sectional Times services can be found on the Trackdata Race Sectionals page.

SPORTSCOLOUR RESPONSE: To bring you up-to-speed, after many decades of servicing the television broadcasting and sectional timing requirements of the Victorian racing industry, Sportscolour (Victoria) as at the 31st of July 2008 completed its obligations for the final time.
This change has been brought about by the Victorian racing industry who against convention have opted to provide these services in-house under the banner, Victorian Thoroughbred Outside Broadcasting, a subsidiary of TVN.
Sportscolour continues to service the needs of both the AJC and STC and will keep our website up-to-date with sectional time information from all race meetings conducted at the four metropolitan tracks.
Sportscolour has not been idle over the last years and have been steadily investigating and developing new technologies, one of which is a cutting edge 3 dimensional tracking and timing system. With any new technology, we like others before us have struck our fair share of hurdles, however we are extremely close to bringing this new and exciting technology to market.
This technology will provide for access to data you have in the past only dreamt about. With unsurpassed accuracy and a mix of information to meet your exacting requirements the new system is sure to revolutionise the way you analyse racing.
Due to changes imposed on us by the Victorian racing industry, it is envisaged that data from the new system, (which will be known as "Caballo") will have a subscription fee attached to it. However the data available should far outweigh the cost and will undoubtedly assist you in picking more winners.
We would also appreciate your comments regarding the good and bad aspects of the current equitime system and what improvements you may wish to see in the future. We are endeavouring to create a system that tailors to the needs of the entire industry and feel to achieve this we should consult our most important resource, you the customer.
