Victoria’s Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board has warned off a pair of Gold Coast punters indefinitely in the final instalment of the Danny Nikolic case.
The RAD Board warned off Alessandro Alaimo and Kevin McFarland after stewards charged the pair with failing to co-operate with the their inquiry into the betting patterns surrounding a selection of Nikolic’s beaten rides between October 2008 and January 2010.
The duo was asked to attend an interview with stewards in April but neither appeared at the meeting while Clements refused to supply his phone records to the investigators.
Neither Alaimo nor McFarland were at Monday’s RAD Board hearing, chaired by Judge Russell Lewis, which banned the pair from Victorian racetracks.
Queensland Racing stewards warned off the pair for failing to co-operate with their inquiry into the defeat of Baby Boom, trained by John Nikolic, at the Sunshine Coast in January.
Both the Victorian and Queensland racing authorities warned off a third man, Melbourne racing identity Neville Clements on similar charges in connection with the Nikolic case.
The RAD Board ruled the stewards failed to prove their case against Nikolic in late June.
