The Chairman of Sydney Turf Club, Bill Picken, said today that his club supported the Board of Racing NSW in defending legal challenges to the imposition of fees on wagering operators using NSW thoroughbred racing fields for their wagering activities.
Mr Picken said that a fee imposed on wagering operators by Racing NSW was fair and reasonable.
“All wagering operators in Australia including corporate bookmakers and betting exchanges should pay an appropriate fee to have access to our racing product.”
Mr Picken said Sydney Turf Club was pleased that Racing NSW had taken action to defend their rights in the matter.
“The Board of Racing NSW can be assured of the support of my club in their defence of their right to levy appropriate fees for the use of thoroughbred racing fields.”
